Sto-Dispersionskleber: Organic Adhesive Mortar for Insulation Boards

Sto-Dispersionskleber is a pasty, ready-to-use organic adhesive mortar, engineered for the solid and flexible fastening of thermal insulation boards onto even, load-bearing substrates. It is a water-based dispersion adhesive based on acrylic polymers, which provides high bond strength and durable flexibility, allowing it to bridge normal movement in wood substrates.

Scope of Application

Sto-Dispersionskleber is suitable for both interior and exterior use. It serves as a key component for the full-surface bonding of thermal insulation boards in External Thermal Insulation Composite Systems (ETICS), such as StoTherm Vario 4.

The adhesive is used for fastening insulation materials onto load-bearing, flat, and low-absorption substrates, including:

• Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) boards.
• Fiber-cement boards.
• Wood-based and gypsum fiber boards.

Substrate Requirements and Application

The adhesive must be applied in a thin layer, exclusively on dry, load-bearing, and level substrates. The substrate must be clean, durable, and free of sintering, efflorescence, or delamination. Depending on the substrate's condition, cleaning and/or priming may be required.

Application Guidelines

• Working Conditions: Bonding should only take place when substrate and ambient temperatures are between 4°C and 38°C (40°F to 100°F).
• Consumption: Approximately 1.0 to 1.5 kg/m² of ready-mixed material.
• Drying Time: Under standard conditions (21°C, 50% relative humidity), the adhesive dries within 24 hours. Under cool, humid conditions, or on low-absorption substrates (e.g., protected coatings), an extended drying and curing time must be anticipated.
