Pediment
The most decorative element of the window is the window cornice. Due to its Classicist architectural form (in most cases) we can determine the term - pediment. At the beginning of the nineteenth century window cornices had no decorations, no different from the vertical strips, including door frames, making the pediments a straighforward band of a rectangular window.. Pediments are the oldest known form of a triangle from the early 30s of the nineteenth Century. It was the most popular form, and present till the very end of the century. At the turn of the third and fourth quarter of the nineteenth century, apart from this typical form, pediments appeard in a larger wealth of form, but they were holding a certain symmetry and stiffness.
Presented dimensions of the pediments relate to the opening of the window/door 76 cm. Each of the decorative elements are produced in a specific dimension of the window/door of our customers, in a way that their sizes change when the size of the window will be different than in our example. |
